After a year of merging the province, Ca Mau promoted investment attraction with 96 key projects, opening up new growth potential from energy, infrastructure and marine economy.

Creating new room for investment capital flows

A year after the merger, Ca Mau is entering a new stage of development with a larger economic scale, resources are concentrated, and development space is expanded. From the advantages of the southernmost region of the Fatherland, the locality is oriented to become a marine economic, energy and logistics center of the Mekong Delta region.

Ca Mau Department of Finance said that in 2026, Ca Mau province announced a list of 96 priority projects calling for investment, spanning the fields of energy, urban areas, infrastructure, industry, services and environment. This is considered a "map of opportunities" for strategic investors at home and abroad.

In which, the energy sector continues to play a driving force for growth. Ca Mau is calling for investment in 10 renewable energy projects with a total estimated capital of more than 54,597 billion VND. With the advantage of three sides bordering the sea, stable wind speed and large coastal land fund, the locality is assessed to have a lot of potential for developing offshore wind power, coastal wind power and accompanying energy infrastructure.

The list calling for investment includes 20 urban and housing projects with a total capital of more than 40,600 billion VND, notably the new urban area in Vinh Trach and Hiep Thanh wards with a scale of about 205 hectares, with an investment capital of nearly 13,000 billion VND. The projects are expected to expand urban space, improve living quality, and increase attractiveness to high-quality human resources.

In addition, the orientation of green economic development continues to be prioritized by the province through environmental treatment projects, including the Nam Can Waste-to-Energy Plant project with a treatment capacity of 600 tons of waste per day, combined with 6 MW of electricity generation. This is considered a step towards a circular economy model and sustainable development.

Towards a new growth pole of the region

Not only building a large-scale project portfolio, Ca Mau also recognizes the interest of many large corporations. Notably, Xuan Thien Group is researching and surveying investment opportunities for projects with a total estimated capital of about 10 billion USD, focusing on local strengths such as renewable energy, deep-water seaports, logistics, processing industry, and marine economy.

According to the province's orientation, attracting strategic investors is not only to supplement capital but also to receive modern technology, management experience, form new value chains, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the local economy.

Ca Mau's advantage also comes from its geo-economic location with three sides bordering the sea, the system of economic zones and industrial parks being invested synchronously with increasingly complete transport infrastructure. Expressway projects, seaports, coastal transportation, and aviation infrastructure are expected to reduce logistics costs, increase connectivity, and create long-term attractiveness for investors.

Along with that, the province identifies improving the investment environment as a key task through administrative procedure reform, supporting site clearance and accompanying businesses in the project implementation process.

In 2026, Ca Mau sets a target to mobilize about 9,000 billion VND of social investment capital, creating a foundation for GRDP growth at double digits in the coming years. With a clear development plan, a large-scale project portfolio, and determination to improve the investment environment, the locality is aiming to become a new growth pole of the Mekong Delta region, while attracting strategic investors to accompany in the long-term development journey.
