Last month, Apple launched a feature that allows entered licenses from competing platforms, making it easier for users to switch to Apple Music without the fear of losing data.
This feature is built into Apple Music's settings, based on the third-party service Songshift.
Users in many countries such as Australia, the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and New Zealand can use this feature on iOS, Android or web browser
Just go to Settings > App > Music, select Union music from other music services, log into your destination account, and select All songs and albums or All playlists.
However, playlists created by pre-cast platforms, such as Spotify's This is Taylor Swift, cannot be moved. Users also need to note that enterting the entire library can download all songs and albums, so they should remove the items they do not want to transfer.
In addition to Apple Music, most major platforms support data moving using third-party services. tidal and Deezer suggest using Tune My Music, a compatible tool with many popular and little-known platforms.
Amazon Music also supports Tune My Music, Songshift, and Soundiiz, while Google recommends that YouTube Music users use third-party services to import or export playlists, albums, artists, and songs. Note that this process can take several hours if you have multiple playlists.
Using Tune My Music to move your library between platforms is often easy. For example, when I moved my Spotify library to Deezer, I just needed to log in, select the playlists, albums, and songs to move, and complete the process in a few minutes with a total of more than 16,000 items.
This service only copies the playlist without downloading the song. Some songs may be missing due to not existing on the new platform or renaming, but you can download this list to find manual.
Most data transfer services are free, but there are also premium packages that allow immediate synchronization between multiple platforms, saving users time.
Thanks to these features and services, moving music libraries between platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer or YouTube Music becomes simpler, helping the music listening experience not to be interrupted when changing providers.
