Spotify launches new feature to help users mix music like DJ

QUANG MINH |

Spotify has just launched a feature that allows listeners to create smooth transitions between songs, similar to how DJs coordinate music.

Users can choose available effects such as fading, pushing up the music or mixing, or self-adjusting as desired.

To use it, just open the playlist, select "Music harmony" and start editing. During the editing process, listeners can change the volume, tone, effects and rely on the pre- displayed rhythm to choose the right starting point. Spotify also said that it will automatically present the music and the number of beats per minute of each song, making it easy for beginners to experiment.

The playlist after the mix can be saved, shared on social networks or invited to a group of friends. Users can also turn on/off the mix mode at any time to return to normal playlist listening.

In addition to sound, playlists are also customized with cover photos, stickers and separate labels. This feature follows Spotify's previous updates to increase control over the music listening experience, while competing with the automatic music mixing service that Apple is preparing to launch.

The appearance of a music arrangement feature shows that Spotify does not only provide music for listening, but also helps users proactively create music experiences according to their own preferences.

This is considered a strategic step to retain listeners in the context of increasingly fierce competition between online music platforms.
