Check power and screen
Sometimes the screen does not display just because it has not been powered or the connection cable is loose.
How to do it: Check the screen power cord → Check HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA cable → Plug it back in securely or switch to another connection port → Turn on the screen again.
Restart the computer
Display errors may only occur temporarily during boot.
How to do it: Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to turn off the computer → Wait a few seconds → Turn the computer back on.
Check screen brightness
In some cases, the screen works but the brightness is reduced to the lowest level.
How to do it: Use the Fn function key + brightening key (depending on the machine line) to check.
External screen check
If using a laptop, try connecting to an external screen to determine if the error is on the screen or the computer.
How to do it: Connect the external screen via HDMI or DisplayPort → Press Windows + P → Select the appropriate display mode.
Remove and reinstall RAM
Loose RAM or dust is a common cause of computers turning on the power but not displaying images.
How to do it: Turn off the power → Remove the power cord → Remove the RAM bar → Use a soft towel or specialized cleaning cloth to clean the contact legs → Reinstall the correct slot → Boot the machine.
graphics card check
For desktop computers with discrete graphics cards, loose cards or errors, the screen is also not displayed.
How to do it: Turn off the computer → Remove the graphics card → Reinstall thoroughly → Check the card's power plug → Restart the computer.
Withdraw all peripheral equipment
USBs, external hard drives, or peripherals sometimes cause conflicts during boot.
How to do it: Remove all USBs, portable hard drives, printers and peripherals → Only leave mouse, keyboard and screen → Restart the machine.
Reset BIOS
Inappropriate BIOS settings can prevent the machine from displaying images.
How to do it: Turn off the machine → Remove the CMOS battery (for desktop computers) for about 5 minutes and then reinstall or use the Clear CMOS button if the motherboard supports it.
When do you need to take the machine for repair?
If you have tried the above methods but the screen still does not display, the reason may be due to:
1: Screen is broken.
2: Graphics card error.
3: RAM is broken.
4: Mainboard encounters problems.
5: CPU or computer power source is faulty.
In this case, users should bring the device to a warranty center or reputable repair shop for inspection.
