Hanoi - The LED screen system continuously displays traffic information in real time, traffic jam and accident warnings, traffic diversion instructions...

On the morning of July 15, Hanoi City Police officially put into operation 36 electronic traffic information and warning LED screens at key roads and intersections in the area. This is an item belonging to phase 2 of the Smart Traffic Project, serving the work of ensuring security, order and traffic organization of the Capital.

According to Hanoi City Police, after promoting the effectiveness of the smart transportation system put into operation from the end of 2025, phase 2 of the project has completed the installation of nearly 2,500 AI cameras (operating from July 1 - PV).

Thus, to date, Hanoi City has put into operation nearly 5,000 AI cameras to serve security and order assurance, traffic command and control, traffic monitoring, detection and handling of violations, and at the same time contribute to solving 5 "bottleneck points" of the city such as traffic congestion, urban order, environmental sanitation...

Along with the AI camera system, 36 4 x 2m LED screens are installed on goalposts on many roads and intersections with large traffic volumes such as National Highway 3 - National Highway 18, Vo Chi Cong - Nguyen Hoang Ton, National Highway 2 - Vo Van Kiet, Quang Trung - Le Trong Tan, Dam Quang Trung - Co Linh, Mai Dich overpass and many gateways and main traffic axes of the Capital.

Recorded on the morning of July 15 at the Vo Chi Cong - Nguyen Hoang Ton intersection, LED screens have been operating, continuously displaying traffic information in real time, congestion warnings, traffic diversion instructions, suggested alternative routes and propaganda messages about traffic order and safety.

All displayed data is updated directly from the Command Information Center of Hanoi City Police, helping people easily monitor traffic conditions and proactively choose the appropriate direction to move.

Sharing with PV, Ms. Dao Thi Hien (Dong Anh, Hanoi) said that she regularly moves on the Nhat Tan Bridge - Vo Chi Cong - Buoi axis, many times there are prolonged congestion because the axis has a very high frequency of vehicles every day.

If there is such a warning, it will be very useful, I can completely change the route to avoid the congestion point ahead, avoid waiting time, and also reduce pressure on the traffic junction that is experiencing congestion," Ms. Hien shared.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Dao Viet Long - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department (Hanoi City Police), phase 2 of the project is of great significance in realizing the policy of promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology to ensuring security and order, and gradually building a smart traffic system and smart cities of the Capital.

We recommend that people regularly monitor the information displayed on the electronic board system, comply with the orders of the Traffic Police force, the traffic light system and legal regulations when participating in traffic.

The companionship of the people will contribute to the system's effectiveness, ensuring security and order, building safe, civilized and modern traffic," said Lieutenant Colonel Dao Viet Long - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department.

According to Hanoi City Police, through the LED screen system, people can update traffic information in real time, grasp roads at risk of congestion or flooding to proactively adjust routes.

In addition to providing traffic regulation information, the screens also regularly display information about traffic accidents, violations of traffic order and safety, and disseminate legal regulations, contributing to raising the awareness of traffic participants.

The synchronous operation of the system of nearly 5,000 AI cameras and 36 LED screens is expected to improve the efficiency of traffic management and operation, support functional forces in ensuring security and order, and at the same time provide an intuitive and timely information channel to serve people when participating in traffic in the Capital.
