On June 30, the ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging administrative units, establishing Party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, the Fatherland Front of provinces, cities, communes, wards and special zones took place nationwide.
From July 1, 2025, the whole country will officially operate a two-level local government model.
Currently, people can access the VNeID application to track new information about their new hometown address and permanent residence.
Accordingly, in the VNeID application, the items such as birth registration place, permanent residence, and current residence have been changed to the new address, including commune/ward and province/city.
How to check information is as follows:
Step 1: People open the VNeID application (may be required to update newly, people follow the instructions). Then, log in to the application using the granted personal account.

Step 2: Access "Documentary address".
Step 3: Press the "See detailed information" section that appears right under the electronic identification card. Then fill in the PIN to protect the data on the VNeID application to continue.
In the available interface, people will clearly see information including "Where to register birth", "Where to register", "Place of residence", "Current residence" which has all been updated with new information.

Based on new information updated on the VNeID application, users can use it to declare and perform future administrative procedures.
Because the data on VNeID is in the process of updating and the number of users accessing the application to see newly updated information is large, at some points the application reports connection problems or is delayed. People can try again later.
