Da Nang continuously leads the national digital transformation
One morning at the Da Nang Smart Urban Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC), a series of data on traffic, public services, security and order, and people's reflections appeared in real time. With just a few steps on the screen, the operator can grasp the entire operation of the city, from the traffic volume on the Dragon Bridge, the number of administrative records submitted online, to the waste treatment status.

That image is a vivid testament to the comprehensive digital transformation development orientation that Da Nang has pursued for many years. Not stopping at e-government, the city has made a long step forward, becoming the locality leading the country for the District Digital Transformation Index (DTI) for the fourth consecutive year, with 3 pillars of digital transformation, including digital government, digital economy and digital society.
Da Nang City Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed: Digital transformation is not only a management tool but also a new driving force, a key for Da Nang to overcome bottlenecks, open up new development space and realize the goal of becoming a growth zone of the whole country.

In the period of 2021-2025, the total revenue of Da Nang's information and communications industry will continuously grow. In 2024 alone, it will reach VND39,888 billion (up 9% compared to 2023), software export turnover of USD165 million, contributing 20.69% of GRDP - exceeding the target set two years ago. In 2025, digital technology revenue is expected to reach VND43,600 billion, software exports are expected to be USD185 million. This is a clear demonstration of the transformation of the digital economy, when IT services, e-commerce, fintech and creative startups are creating new growth momentum.
Strong orientation for the 2025-2030 period
Da Nang has issued Resolution 05-NQ/TU on digital transformation until 2025, with a vision to 2030; identifying this as one of three strategic breakthroughs along with science - technology and innovation. The city aims to increase the average GRDP by 11%/year by 2030, the average GRDP per capita to reach 8,500 USD, the proportion of the digital economy in GRDP to reach 3540%, HDI to reach 0.787, the urbanization rate to over 63%.
To realize it, the city focuses on 3 pillars:
Digital government: Complete a shared data platform, integrate 100% of level 4 online public services, increase the rate of online processing of records, build a two-level government model operating on digital platforms.
Digital economy: Orientation for broad scope development, including IT, e-commerce, platform economy, fintech, smart tourism; strive for total factor productivity (TFP) to contribute over 55% of growth.
Digital society: Developing digital citizens, digital culture, essential services on a technology platform; promoting the popularization of digital skills and digital financial services so that all people can enjoy the fruits of digital transformation.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Thanh Hong emphasized: Digital transformation is an inevitable requirement and also an opportunity for Da Nang to rise. The city will continue to cooperate with domestic and international technology corporations, piloting sandbox for new technologies such as AI, blockchain, fintech, automation, associated with building an innovation and startup ecosystem.
In reality, high-quality human resource training programs are being promoted. DSAC Center has trained more than 300 students and lecturers on microchips and artificial intelligence; Da Nang commits to training 5,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030. Global technology enterprises such as Synopsys, Cadence, FPT, Marvell... have signed cooperation agreements, creating digital human resources according to market demand.
