On July 28, the City People's Committee had a working session with Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung to report on the development of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation in the area and propose a number of contents to effectively implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated April 10, 2024 of the Politburo.
Reporting at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Ho Quang Buu City People's Committee said that in recent times, the city has issued and synchronously implemented policies to promote the development of science - technology, innovation and digital transformation.
In the first 6 months of 2025, many businesses and organizations have benefited from the city's support policies. The city has issued a specific action plan to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, assigning specific targets and tasks to units.
Many outstanding results have been recorded such as the budget expenditure ratio for science - technology, innovation and digital transformation in 2025 is estimated at 2% of total local budget expenditure; the city currently has 3 innovation startup support centers, 12 incubation gardens, 6 creative startup investment funds.
Da Nang has led the country in digital transformation at the provincial level for 3 consecutive years and is the only locality to be awarded the Smart City Award for the Best Smart City Award for 5 consecutive years at the Vietnam Smart City Award.
At the meeting, the City People's Committee proposed 10 main groups of contents including expanding the controlled testing mechanism (sandbox); establishing a National Innovation Startup Support Center in Da Nang; supporting investment in some strategic infrastructure such as Software Park No. 2, Science and Technology Park, regional data center, international fiber optic cables; allowing the location of low-altitude satellite ground stations (LEO Ground Station); supporting high technology, applying in smart urban management.
Add the city's breakthrough initiatives to the list of science - technology tasks, innovation, national digital transformation; perfect the smart urban legal framework at the provincial and national levels; expand visa policies for international experts and investors; support the implementation of a one-level and proactive public administration model; support the city in implementing major problems such as city digital copy, big data platform and analysis, digital economic platform, Da Nang blockchain network.
