NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

Deutsche Telekom, a German telecommunications company, has launched a new AI phone, priced from only 149 Euros.

According to the company's homepage, they will cooperate with Perplexity to integrate AI (artificial intelligence) on the T Phone 3 smartphone and the T tablet 2. These two devices support functions including real-time translation, trip planning, tutoring, email drafting, content summarization and image editing.

In addition, users can also activate the AI tool by using a red button on the hardware or by double- pressing the source key, using voice or entering text.

In addition, these two devices have also had upgraded hardware such as faster charging, improved camera performance as well as product durability.

For users who do not buy smartphones but still use the network's packages, Deutsche Telekom will integrate Magenta AI service to provide free access to some AI tools such as Perplexity's answering tool and the photo editor supported by Picsart.

It is known that the starting price of T Phone 3 is only 149 Euros, while T tablet 2 is 199 Euros. In addition to being launched in Germany, these two products are also introduced in Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland and Slovakia. Prices vary depending on the market.

In general, the explosion of AI has opened up many opportunities for phone companies from Samsung, Honor, Oppo, Xiaomi, Tecno, Vivo, Google... and is also an important factor shaping the smartphone market in the world. Deutsche Telekom's participation in this market promises to create fierce competition in the coming time.

According to IDC's forecast, by 2028, the number of AI- embedded smartphones will reach 912 million units, with an annual growth rate of 78.4% from 2024 to 2028.

According to Canalys, the explosion of AI phones is due to the growing demand of consumers for AI features, along with advances in chipset technology.
