On October 6, the Department of Information and Communications (MIC) coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize a series of seminars on digital platforms applied in small and medium enterprises and cooperative alliances associated with information security in digital transformation. Thereby, it aims to promote the organization of activities, spread meaningful programs on digital transformation, aiming to accompany small and medium enterprises and cooperatives in the province to overcome challenges and apply digital transformation solutions. Not only helping to improve the competitiveness of enterprises and cooperatives to develop production and business, but also contributing to the socio-economic development in Kien Giang province.

Mr. Vo Minh Trung - Director of Kien Giang Department of Information and Communications - said that Kien Giang always identifies Digital Transformation as a new development method, helping to accelerate and shorten the industrialization and modernization process of the country and the province. Industrialization is digital transformation in the processing and manufacturing sector; modernization is comprehensive digital transformation in terms of economy, culture, society, politics and environment.
Aware of the importance of digital transformation, in recent times, Kien Giang province has been actively promoting digital transformation in all three pillars: Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society.
Kien Giang strives to be in the group of 20 leading provinces and cities in the country in digital transformation by 2025.
With drastic and synchronous implementation, Kien Giang has achieved very positive results in digital transformation.
According to the results of the implementation of 5 Indexes: PAR Index, SIPAS, PCI, PGI and PAPI in 2023 of Kien Giang province, the ranking results of the Public Administration Reform Index for Building and Developing e-Government and Digital Government ranked 19/63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 32 places compared to 2022. The assessment results of the Set of Indexes for Serving People and Businesses of Kien Giang province on the national public service portal by October 2024 ranked 26/63 provinces and cities, up 19 places compared to 2023.
The Director of the Department of Information and Communications emphasized: The above breakthrough results were achieved thanks to the participation of the entire political system; the responsible and enthusiastic participation of the people and businesses. Kien Giang also received active support from the Ministry of Information and Communications, from businesses and corporations providing digital platforms and digital solutions. Kien Giang also promoted communication about digital transformation in a positive and regular manner. Through communication, the awareness of a part of the people and businesses has changed, leading to changes in behavior and habits, shifting from traditional methods to digital methods, digital environment, working with digital technology, etc.
