After June 15, along with the deployment of subscriber status confirmation on VNeID, one of the groups that many people are interested in is individuals who are registered with two or more phone numbers.
Many users currently own multiple SIMs for various purposes such as personal communication, work, online business, monitoring devices...
Registering multiple SIMs does not mean violation
According to current regulations, having an individual's name in multiple SIMs is not an act of violating the law.
Users can completely register and own multiple phone numbers if the subscribers are used legally and complete the procedures according to regulations.
However, in the process of reviewing subscriber data, management agencies and telecommunications businesses still pay special attention to the group of users who hold a large number of SIMs.
Previously, the Telecommunications Department (Ministry of Science and Technology) said that data analysis had detected many cases of individuals holding a large number of subscribers. This is also one of the signs used to identify SIMs that are at risk of no longer being used or pre-activated SIMs.
Is it confirming each phone number?
According to new regulations, usage status confirmation is carried out for each subscriber.
This means that if a person is using multiple phone numbers, each subscriber needs to be confirmed as still being used by the owner.
Users can check phone numbers in their name through the VNeID application and perform confirmation according to instructions.
In case only a number is confirmed but the remaining subscribers are omitted, unconfirmed numbers may still be subject to handling according to regulations.
What should users do?
Network operators recommend that people should check all subscribers who are in their names on VNeID instead of just paying attention to frequently used phone numbers.
If you detect that the subscriber number is no longer used or not managed by you, users should carry out confirmation according to the instructions to avoid risks related to the responsibility of the subscriber in the future.
For numbers that are still in use, completing usage status confirmation will help avoid the risk of service locking and ensure continuous communication.
