Firefox adds AI-powered website summary feature on iOS

    Mozilla has just announced that the Firefox browser will deploy a website content summarization feature on mobile devices using AI.

    However, this feature is currently only available to iOS users in the US and only supports English.

    The difference from popular summarization tools of Google or other platforms is that Firefox allows opening summarization by shaking your phone.

    This tool can summarize any website with a length of less than 5,000 words, even though it would be difficult for users to accurately estimate this limit. The feature can also be turned off in the settings.

    For iPhone 15 and later, and when iOS 26 is released, Firefox will take advantage of Apple Intelligence to create an summary. In other cases, the document will be sent to the Mozilla cloud system for safe processing and creating summaries.

    This is the next step after Firefox launched the Link Previews feature in May. At that time, the testing tool uses AI to display a preview of a link's content, including a list of key points.
