Google has just updated the Gemini app on Android and iOS with a notable improvement: a player for Audio Overviews that helps users listen to a summary of audio content seamlessly without having to switch to another browser.
Before this update, every time a user clicks on an "Audio Overview" page, the application will open a new browser tab with a long-dinged link.
Now with the latest version 16.27 ( Android) and iOS, users can listen live in the app with a beautiful compact interface: navigation timeline, access/pass button 10 seconds, playback speed from x0.5 to x2, and record download button.
Audio Overviews by Gemini are audio summaries presented by AI. This feature was first rolled out on NotebookLM before being added to the Gemini app. With the new distributor integrated version, users have satisfied their desire to listen live and more conveniently.
This update shows that Google is moving Gemini to become a multimedia AI assistant, not only answering in words but also allowing users to listen, download and share content quickly. The addition of a live audio player makes the user experience richer and more realistic than ever.
