Google continues to expand the integration of Gemini AI into its application ecosystem. Recently, the company introduced the PDF summary card feature on Google Drive - a tool that uses artificial intelligence to automatically analyze and summarize the content of the PDF file as soon as the user opens the document.
Instead of stopping at simply displaying an overview as before, these summary cards come with specific action recommendations. For example: users can click "Draw up sample recommendations" or "List of interview questions based on this profile".
These actions will start Gemini in the right panel, helping users start work without leaving the document screen.
When users double- click on a PDF file in Drive, the summary will appear in the pre- coated view window, instead of opening to a new browser tab as before. In addition, if you don't want to use this feature, users can still reset Drive to open the PDF file in the traditional way.
This new feature supports more than 20 languages from the launch, for customers using Google Workspace Business Standard, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus versions, as well as users with the Gemini Education package. In addition, those who have signed up for AI Pro or Ultra packages will also experience this feature.
With the ability to support report summarization, create response letters on Gmail, manage appointment schedules in Calendar or analyze data in Sheets, Gemini is gradually becoming available in every corner of Google toolkit.
And this integration with Drive promises to significantly improve work performance with PDF documents - a popular format in the learning and business environment.
