At its recent I/O 2025 event, Google introduced two major changes.
The first change is the content approval interface, especially for music listening apps. The new design allows for clear subdivision of content, such as displaying Recent Search above the album list to help users search faster and reduce handling while driving.
The second change is in the "broadcast" screen. Google will allow applications to arrange the control button more flexibly, such as switching the button cluster to the right corner of the screen instead of in the middle as before. Although different from the familiar layout, the new design is still clear, easy to use and creates a fresh feeling.
Google also expands the developer tool, allowing developers to build music listening on-drive apps with more complete and vivid interfaces, rather than just a simple version of the phone app as it is today. This feature is being tested and will be rolled out soon.
Google said that the three popular music listening platforms Spotify, Amazon Music and YouTube Music will be the first to update this new change.
