Google and the Associated Press (AP) news agency partner to bring real-time news to the Gemini app.

Google is taking the Gemini app to the next level in news delivery, by integrating real-time feeds from the Associated Press (AP).

This partnership builds on a longstanding relationship between Google and AP, who have worked together to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on Google Search.

AP’s trusted news reporting will now be available in the Gemini app. AP Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Kristin Heitmann highlighted the importance of this partnership, praising Google’s recognition of AP’s commitment to providing timely, accurate and unbiased news.

Google sees artificial intelligence (AI) as a revolutionary technology with the potential to change the journalism industry.

The company is actively exploring the benefits of AI in journalism through initiatives like the JournalismAI Innovation Challenge — which currently supports 35 projects in 22 countries, with the goal of using AI to strengthen local journalism, demonstrating Google’s commitment to growing the media industry.

The partnership with AP is just one part of Google’s ongoing efforts to support news organizations, Google said. For more than two decades, Google has partnered with news organizations around the world, providing tools and resources to help them grow their audiences and revenue.
