Google is upgrading Circle to Search, a popular fast search engine on Android devices with scroll and Translate live localization.
The new update is expected to bring a more seamless experience when users access multilingual content on the internet.
According to Android Authority, some users participating in the Google beta testing program on Pixel devices have begun to experience the feature.
With scroll and Translate, instead of having to select each text doan for translating, users can activate the language icon in Circle to Search, then select the "Roll and Translate" option. Immediately, the system will automatically translate all the text displayed on the screen to the desired language.
Notably, this feature is not only applicable to static text on websites or social networks, but also extends to richer formats, including videos, images, and GIFs.
When scrolling through a long article or a source of data, users will receive an almost instant version, helping to save operations compared to the previous manual portion-time localization.
However, initial testing also showed that the system needed a few seconds to process and provide an accurate translation. The limited implementation shows that Google is still refining the technology before expanding to other Android devices that support Circle to Search.
In the context that many Android smartphone models have integrated AI-powered live translation tools on the device, the appearance of scroll and Translate is expected to increase competitiveness and at the same time improve convenience for global users.
If successful, this could be an important step forward, turning Circle to Search into a search engine that combines powerful translations in the Google ecosystem.
