Translation applications like Google Translate are indispensable tools for anyone traveling internationally, helping people overcome language barriers. Besides translating your messages into foreign languages, Google Translate can also help you learn how to pronounce correctly. Currently, this can only be done by listening to audio recordings, but according to Phone Arena, things will be much better.
When opening the Google Translate application, tap the "practice" tab in the bottom right corner of the screen. This will open the "Personalized Dialogue Practice" feature, using personalized activities to improve your foreign language speaking and listening skills. There are three levels (basic, intermediate, and advanced) for you to choose from. You can even decide whether you want to use that language for professional conversations, daily communication, talking to friends and family, and more.
Now, Google Translate is ready to take you to a new level. Imagine you can speak and listen to a foreign language used in a specific country and be considered by others as a native speaker of that country. That is the goal of the new pronunciation training mode in the application. You will be able to listen to recordings of speakers of the language you want to be proficient in, then record your own version. Google Translate will score your presentation and make suggestions to help you improve your pronunciation.
A new "Training" mode supported by artificial intelligence has been discovered by experts in the upcoming version of the Google Translate application. Besides the "understand" and "ask" buttons at the bottom of the translation display screen, a new option called "practice" appears. Clicking on it will take you to a new page, from which you can click on the speaker icon titled "listen".
When you are ready to try to pronounce the translation accurately, press the "pronounce" button and try your best. Google Translate will analyze your pronunciation and give feedback. If the recording is unclear, you will see the phrase you are learning written in transcription. Google Translate will give your opinion on how well you have done and give you another chance to do better.
This new feature, when integrated into Google Translate, will be very helpful for everyone's foreign language learning, especially when this is a completely free application.
