On October 22, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, in coordination with the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, organized the Conference "Breakthrough in the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation".
The conference held in Vinh Long province - a locality with great potential and tradition of creativity - has practical significance in spreading the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
This is a Southern regional conference, part of a series of three conferences held nationwide.
In his welcoming speech, Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau expressed his honor when the province was chosen to host the conference, and affirmed that this is a great opportunity for Vinh Long - after merging with Ben Tre and Tra Vinh - to make a strong breakthrough in development.
For nearly a year, the province's scientific, technological and innovation activities have had many positive changes; the "Digital platform" movement has attracted more than 95,000 students; the innovation index reached 32.29 points, ranking 21/34 nationwide; Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio are in the Top 10 outstanding digital transformation press agencies nationwide.

In his opening speech, comrade Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - emphasized the conference to spread the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo into the practical life of the development of the Mekong Delta and the whole country.
He said that the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation in 2025 will create a favorable legal corridor, encourage investment in research and application of new technologies.
The conference also focused on discussing and proposing solutions to promote the implementation of Resolution 57, introducing a strategic technology portfolio and sharing local digital transformation experiences.
In the afternoon, delegates visited the innovation model at Mekong University, contributing to spreading the spirit of science, creativity and the aspiration for sustainable development of the Mekong Delta.
