According to Lao Dong, the highest discount in this system is up to 6.5 million VND (from 21.9 million VND to 15.49 million VND for the 128GB iPhone 15.5). iPhone 16 Pro Max is heavily discounted, priced from only 30.49 million VND for the 256GB version.
According to Mr. Khue, the time after Tet is also the time for retailers to launch shopping stimulus strategies, both to release inventory and to prepare for new product import plans.
Apple's CellphoneS system - Tier 1 authorized retail system - has also updated the new price list for a series of genuine iPhone products with a discount of 6-20%, many models have a discount of up to 3 million VND.
The company representative said: "This discount is not unusual, because every year at the end of each quarter, the companies adjust the promotions for the product lines they are in business for. However, this is a rare time when Apple favours the Vietnamese market with relatively good discounts compared to previous years and applies to many different models.
Other systems such as FPT Shop, Di Dong Viet, The Gioi Di Dong... also apply iPhone price reductions to stimulate customers' shopping needs, in addition to maintaining incentive and promotion programs.
According to statistics from market research company Canalys, in 2024, Apple sold 225.9 million iPhones. Despite a 1% decline in sales from 2023, Apple is still leading the market with 18% market share. Canalys statistics also show that iPhone 15, 16 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max are the 3 best-selling smartphone models globally.
With the price reduction in the Vietnamese market as well as some other places, it will help Apple release inventory, recover capital, and prepare the budget for the next product launches.
