Apple has just launched the iPhone Air - the thinnest iPhone ever. But according to rumors, this title will soon be dismissed because the foldable iPhone model will be launched in 2026.
Expected to become a highlight in next year's fall product line, Apple's first foldable iPhone, temporarily called the iPhone Fold, is said to have the most groundbreaking design ever. Notably, the device will be even thinner than the iPhone Air, which is already ultra-thin.
Accordingly, the iPhone Air is currently 5.6mm thick. Meanwhile, the iPhone Fold when opened is only about 4.5-4.8mm thick and when folded it can reach 9-9.5mm.
This number was revealed by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier this year. Although Apple may have finalized the technical specifications, analyst Kuo's estimate is still considered a reliable source of reference.
If the leaked information becomes true, iPhone Fold will not only open a new era for the iPhone product line but also reshape the entire foldable smartphone market.
Apple is already famous for its design optimization and new standards, so the expectation for the first foldable iPhone is huge.
Users are waiting for not only an impressive lightweight device, but also the perfect combination of aesthetics, durability and user experience - factors that can create a new boost for the global mobile industry.
