On the afternoon of March 16, the 25th anniversary celebration program of Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC) took place in Ho Chi Minh City.
Established in 2001, from the breakthrough policy of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, aiming to build a foundation for the information technology and knowledge economy industry, QTSC is constantly developing and gradually creating a dynamic digital technology ecosystem. After 25 years of operation, QTSC has attracted 27 investors and formed a community of more than 120 digital technology businesses, providing more than 650 products, services, and technology solutions for the domestic market and more than 30 countries around the world, deeply participating in the digital transformation process of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
Sharing at the event, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology highly appreciated the contributions and achievements of QTSC in 25 years of formation and development for the information technology and science and technology industry in Vietnam, considering this as the "most successful model in concentrated digital technology zones across the country".
In the context of the country undergoing transformation, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that QTSC must have truly breakthrough solutions in the new period. On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong suggested some major orientations for QTSC to coordinate with units and agencies of the Ministry to find new and suitable directions for itself.
Accordingly, the Ministry expects QTSC to become a test area for a new business model, using new technology, repositioning its direction, taking on a major national mission, mastering strategic technology, to contribute to solving major national problems, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and promoting two-digit development.
“QTSC with experience, resources after 25 years of development, along with high-quality human resources, a comprehensive and complete ecosystem, with strong support from Ho Chi Minh City in developing science and technology, QTSC is capable of taking responsibility for mastering strategic technology to immediately solve major problems of Ho Chi Minh City from transportation, environment, health, education...”, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized.
The Ministry of Science and Technology also commits to accompanying Ho Chi Minh City and QTSC, creating the most open institutional space, and perfecting support mechanisms and policies suitable to reality. The Ministry also hopes that the Ho Chi Minh City government will create favorable conditions in terms of planning, infrastructure, resources, and investment environment for QTSC and other digital technology parks to develop sustainably.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that the 25-year history of QTSC is the history of those who dare to think and dare to do. The unit not only contributes to impressive software export growth figures, but more importantly, this place has reshaped the "creative culture" of the City, from 21 initial businesses to a 120-enterprise ecosystem with more than 22,000 experts.
To be able to meet the tasks and expectations in the new period, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the city will focus on accelerating transportation and telecommunications infrastructure connection projects, while creating a modern living environment with full amenities and high-standard housing to retain talents, and at the same time drastically reforming administrative procedures in a minimalist and substantive direction, ensuring that all difficulties of businesses at QTSC are always listened to and resolved promptly with the highest service spirit.
