Startup AI named Manus (headquartered in Singapore) has just announced a breakthrough feature called Wide Research, designed as a multi-processor AI research tool capable of performing complex tasks on a large scale.
This product is considered Manus' answer to OpenAI's Deep Research and Google's Deep Think, in the context of AI tools increasingly competing fiercely for depth and the ability to process large amounts of information, according to indianexpress.
wide Research allows a wide range of AI agents to collaborate to handle tasks that require queries of hundreds of different data items, from comparing MBA programs, research on the sports shoe market, to analyzing generative AI tools.
According to Manus, this is "a parallel processing mechanism at the system level" and is not limited by fixed formats or data regions.
In other words, this tool is highly general, limited only by the user's imagination.
The special feature is the large-scale virtual architecture and specialized cloud infrastructure behind Wide Research, allowing users to coordinate workload with just simple interactions with an AI actor.
Co-founder of Manus, Mr. Peak Ji, demonstrated this tool by simultaneously researching 100 sports shoe models or creating 50 poster designs in a few minutes, something that traditional tools can hardly achieve.
For now, wide Research is only available to Pro customers, but Manus said it will expand to Plus and Basic users in the near future.
Although still in the testing phase, this product marks Manus' most important step since its establishment in March this year.
Not only stopping at research, Manus has made a splash with products such as multi-purpose AI that performs automatic web tasks and AI video creation.
Their technology is compatible with many large models such as Claude of Anthropic and is powered through a virtual machine capable of completing Turing a factor that allows it to expand to many other creative applications.
After expanding its operations to Singapore, Tokyo and California, Manus has also successfully raised $75 million from international investment funds such as Benchmark, Tencent and ZhenFund, ready to enter the global AI race.
