According to the survey, on e-commerce platforms, there are many smart speaker products, announcing balance fluctuations with different models and prices. Among them, products with cheap prices received many views and tens of thousands of product purchases.

contacting a customer who gave a 1-star rating for the product: "Loa Bien Receive Thanh Hoan QR Code" with a price of 89,000 VND on e-commerce platform, this customer said he lost more than 40 million VND when using this loudspeaker device.

"My family has been in the grocery store business for more than 4 years. During the trading process, due to the large number of customers, employees often lose money transfers even though they take a careful photo of the transaction screen. Once, my staff had to deduct nearly 2 months' salary to make up for the missing amount after monthly settlement.

For that reason, my staff suggested buying a smart speaker product, notifying the account balance change as soon as the customer transferred the money. This product has the advantage of receiving notification very quickly, clear sound, so it is easy for employees to recognize when there are many customers.

However, this product requires connection via application and receiving money directly via application before transferring to a bank account. At first, the product was effective and allowed for quick withdrawals with just a few steps on the application provided by the manufacturer. A few months later, the application often reported errors, could not log in, and could not withdraw money.

After checking, I discovered that this product had no clear origin and the entire amount of more than 40 million VND in the application was not transferred to my account but had disappeared..." - the customer shared.

Be careful with products of unknown origin

Discussing this issue with Lao Dong, Mr. Pham Duc Luu - Head of Partnership Department of 9Pay Joint Stock Company said that loudspeaker devices that announce money transfers of unknown origin need to be careful when using them.

Smart loudspeaker devices that can convert transactions in accounts to voiceovers must be licensed and linked to domestic banks to ensure transparency in transactions. Therefore, it will be very difficult for foreign brands to receive and transfer money.

Normally, the transfer process between banks will take a certain period of time, depending on the transaction level at the time the customer transfers the money. Therefore, loudspeaker products that announce transfer will be developed with a money receiving application. Customers' money will be received through the application first, then transferred to the account owner's bank to reduce waiting time.

Therefore, customers should prioritize the use of smart loudspeaker products originating from Vietnam, certified to be linked to domestic banks, along with being licensed by the state to limit losses in the process of receiving and transferring money.

"Before ordering, customers should carefully research product information and only choose products on the official website. In particular, customers should contact the bank directly linked to the product to verify information before deciding to use it.

For products related to bank accounts, customers should not choose cheap, poor quality products because it can leave huge consequences..." - Mr. Luu emphasized.

According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Son - Technology Director, Vietnam National Cyber Security Technology Joint Stock Company (NCS), consumers can also check the product through the line code printed on the product.

"Customers use bar codes to compare the accuracy of information recorded on the product when they feel untrustworthy. For products that do not have made in or made by with the manufacturing country or are written in the unreadable national language, using bar codes to determine information is very necessary.

However, in addition to the boundary, it is necessary to pay attention to other factors such as checking invoices and documents, anti-counterfeit stamps, sub-labeling information in Vietnamese for imported goods, product forms, etc." - NCS Technology Director informed.
