In order to solve the fragmentation situation when Microsoft launched too many individual Copilot versions in the past, this technology giant has planned to merge the entire Copilot ecosystem into a single "super app" AI. This information was confirmed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Nadella explained that Copilot has gone through three core stages, from a fast-responsive chat tool, to team collaboration to connect data, and now to comprehensive autonomous background tasks. Microsoft plans to combine all these tools into a "super app" serving both ordinary users and business customers.
This super application Copilot is expected to be launched at the end of 2026. For the office environment, the application will still ensure the security standards, data management and strict compliance of Microsoft 365. In addition, accompanying the Windows 11 update, this application can be pre-installed directly into the operating system without users needing to download additional external applications.
Microsoft said they have more than 30 million paid Copilot users, so many people will feel this change directly.
According to analysis from experts, Microsoft's construction of the super app Copilot is aimed at competing with competitors in the race to win the user's "default AI interface" position. Previously, Anthropic had provided an application that incorporated all its tools.
