The excellent Vietnamese teams are invited to participate in the Final Round in Seoul on August 29, with all travel and accommodation costs sponsored by Nexon.
Nexon - one of the leading online game companies in Korea has completed the Online Preliminary Round of the NEXON Young Programmers Cup (NYPC) AI application strategy programming competition and officially confirmed the list of outstanding contestants who won the right to participate in the Final Round.
This year, NYPC is redefined from a competition focused on traditional algorithms to a strategic playground, assessing the ability of contestants to apply AI. This change has received positive response from the community. In particular, in Vietnam - a country that was chosen for the first time as the international venue for the competition, nearly 1000 university students have registered to participate in a new category called Master Track. This category assesses the ability to predict and cope with opponent strategies through simulated matches between AI agents (AI Agents) developed by students themselves.
Through the Master Track Preliminary Round taking place from June 29 - July 8, 2026, about 70 contestants have qualified for the Final Round. Among them, many excellent teams from Vietnam have also passed the Preliminary Round and will participate in the Final Round. Nexon will sponsor all costs for these teams to participate in the event in Korea, including round-trip air tickets and accommodation costs.
The Final Round will take place in Seoul on August 29, including live competition and awards ceremony. The total prize value of the competition is up to 50 million Korean won (equivalent to about 935 million Vietnamese dong). In addition to ranking prizes, winning contestants in the Master Track category also have the opportunity to participate in the internship program at Nexon.
The contest is organized in coordination with Nexon Dev Vina (NDVN) - a game development company under Nexon in Vietnam. In the near future, Nexon will continue to update the Final Round schedule and information related to Vietnamese contestants through official Facebook and Zalo channels.
Mr. Kim Jung-wook, Chairman of Nexon Foundation shared: "Through NYPC's Preliminary Round with a completely new AI strategic format, we have had the opportunity to witness the abilities as well as the development potential of the contestants. We look forward to seeing all the best contestants fully demonstrate their abilities in the Final Round and continue to take another step on the journey of self-development.
Detailed information about the Final Round is posted on the official website of NYPC.
