Galaxy Z8 Series is a high-end folding smartphone line launched by Samsung not long ago. Among them, the completely new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra have listed prices of 46.99 million and 52.99 million VND respectively for the standard version 12GB RAM - 256GB ROM. While Galaxy Z Flip 8 has a price from 31.99 million VND for the 256GB ROM version.
In Vietnam, major retail systems in Vietnam are implementing a pre-order program for this product line from July 22 to August 7. From August 8, they will simultaneously open for sale to bring smartphones to customers in Vietnam.
According to Lao Dong's research, the new product line of the major Korean smartphone manufacturer has attracted great interest from Vietnamese consumers. At The Gioi Di Dong system, they have received more than 3,000 pre-orders, of which the Z Fold 8 line alone accounts for more than 50%, equivalent to over 70 billion VND. Z Fold 8 Ultra accounts for more than 35% of orders, estimated at over 55 billion VND.
At the Vietnam Mobile system, they did not specify the number of deposits. However, representatives of this system emphasized that pre-orders increased compared to the previous generation by about 500 units. Among them, Z Fold 8 accounted for the highest proportion, up to 61%.
Answering Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Phan Tran Thanh - Deputy Director of Mobile Phone Industry, FPT Shop system, said that the pre-order results of the trio Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at the system recorded double-digit growth compared to the previous generation in the same opening period.
Among the trio of products, Galaxy Z Fold 8 is leading in the number of pre-orders, followed by Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8. In terms of configuration, the 256GB memory version is chosen the most by customers, thanks to well meeting the storage and daily usage needs of the majority of users.
Other technology retail systems and chains such as Viettel Store, CellphoneS, 24hStore... also recorded a fairly large number of deposits for Samsung's new smartphone line. According to experts, the new Galaxy Z Fold line is expected to open a new development phase for the folding phone segment, with a variety of design and size options, better meeting the needs of many customer groups.
Statistics from market research company Omdia show that in Q2/2026, Samsung continued to maintain its position as the world's largest smartphone supplier, shipping 60.5 million units (up 5% compared to the same period last year) and accounting for 22% of the global market share. In Vietnam, the Korean technology company led the market in Q1 this year with 29% market share, far ahead of Oppo (21%), Apple (20%) or Xiaomi (18%).
Galaxy Z8 Series will have many competitors in the market. In which, Z Fold 8 Ultra will directly compete with iPhone Ultra - a product being mass-produced by Apple. For the remaining lines, there will be many competitors from brands such as Oppo, Honor, Xiaomi, Vivo...
