Immediately after these smartphone lines were launched, major systems in Vietnam have implemented pre-order programs throughout the store system and online platforms. Customers can directly experience products at the store, and deposit early to receive full offers during this period.
At Di Dong Viet system, the number of customers registering to receive information before launching the Galaxy Z8 Series has tripled compared to the previous generation. Among them, Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the most interested version by customers, accounting for about 55% of the total pre-registration, followed by Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
At CellphoneS, the system has recorded nearly 500 customers interested and registered information in advance. They predict that the proportion of customers pre-ordering Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra will continue to account for the majority, about 80% of the total number of orders. With Galaxy Z Flip 8, customers are likely to pre-order the most in the new Rose pink color.
Major retail systems in Vietnam are implementing a pre-order program for this product line from July 22 to August 7. From August 8, they will simultaneously open for sale to bring smartphones to customers in Vietnam.
With Samsung Vietnam, they will implement a "early experience privilege" program for customers in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 line alone. Customers will receive the device from August 1st, can experience it for a period of time and refund it for free if they feel unwilling to buy it.
Momentum for the smartphone market
The new product line from the Korean brand is expected to help them continue to consolidate their position in both the international and Vietnamese markets. According to Counterpoint Research research company, in the second quarter of 2026, Samsung's sales also decreased, but they still topped the market with 24% market share, ranked above Apple (20%).
In Vietnam, Samsung led the market in the first quarter of this year with 29% market share, far ahead of Oppo (21%), Apple (20%) or Xiaomi (18%), according to Omdia statistics and continued to occupy high positions from April to June this year. The appearance of a new flagship product line will contribute to creating a boost for the market in the year-end shopping period in the third and fourth quarters of this year.
