Perplexity Pro and Max users can now experience a new feature that allows creating 8-second AI videos with audio, which can be downloaded or shared directly. This is a new step forward for this famous AI search engine, which operates based on the major language models of Anthropic, Google and OpenAI.
According to CEO Aravind Srinivas, the feature is currently only available to Pro and Max subscribers. Mobile users need to update the Perplexity application to the latest version to activate it.
Simple way to use
To create a video, users just need to enter the "Create a video" command with the desired content in the command prompt box. The processing takes about 12 minutes. The video will appear in the app, with a fixed duration of 8 seconds, similar to Google's Veo 3 technology.
After completion, users can download or share through the three- stop menu button in the lower right corner. In addition, there is also an option to "Report" to attach flags with malicious or inappropriate content. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can edit it or mark the request as ineffective.
Limitations and incentives for the Max package
There is currently no option to increase resolution or extend the duration beyond 8 seconds in the Pro package. However, users of the Max package will enjoy the "upgraded quality" feature without the need for resolution editing, along with a higher speed limit to create more videos.
Notably, the new feature appeared just over a month after Perplexity launched the Ask Perplexity service on the X platform, allowing 8-second videos to be created directly from social networks.
The addition of audio capabilities promises to expand the potential for content creation, while competing strongly with other video AI platforms.
With a combination of speed, convenience and quality, Perplexity is reshaping the way users access digital content, making AI video creation as easy as sending a message.
