Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold product line has not seen many improvements in recent years. Although the Galaxy Z Fold 6 launched in 2024 brings some welcome features, it has yet to make a breakthrough compared to competitors.
However, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 promises to have truly notable upgrades.
According to recent reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may inherit some elements from the Galaxy Z Fold SE - a foldable phone introduced last year. Notable changes include a thinner design, a larger screen, and adjustments to the operating mechanism of the S Pen to suit a thinner body.
Setsuna Digital - a leaked source on Weibo - also confirmed this information, and further revealed that Samsung will improve the rope, helping to reduce the subsidence of folding on the screen.
In addition, the main camera and hidden camera under the screen will also be upgraded, along with better water and dust resistance. These are all factors that need to be improved after many generations of the Galaxy Z Fold.
However, one point that remains unchanged on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the battery capacity. According to leaked sources, the device will still retain a 4,400 mAh battery - similar to the versions from the Galaxy Z Fold 3 launched in 2021 to present. Most likely, the charging speed will not have a significant upgrade. This matches the specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold SE, which also has a 4,400 mAh battery pack.
Samsung is expected to launch a new generation of foldable smartphones by the end of this year.
