According to the company's description, this system operates as a "digital representative", capable of performing multiple tasks instead of the user.
The launch of Personal Computer takes place in the context that AI agents are becoming a major trend in the technology field.
Just a few weeks earlier, Perplexity introduced the Perplexity Computer product, and now continues to expand the ecosystem with a new AI assistant.
According to Perplexity, Personal Computer has the ability to coordinate many tools, tasks and user files from any device.
This assistant can support daily tasks such as researching a topic, writing emails, summarizing information and preparing morning news.
The system is currently designed to run on Mac minis and operate in a separate security environment.
The company said that every working session is fully recorded in a journal, and sensitive operations will require user approval before implementation.
A notable feature of Personal Computer is its ability to use many different large language models. Users can choose popular AI models such as Claude, Gemini, or Grok.
In some cases, the system also allows these models to exchange with each other to solve complex tasks.
Although the inference is done via cloud computing, Personal Computer still has access to files and applications installed directly on the user's machine.
This helps AI assistants coordinate personal data with the powerful processing capabilities of the AI system.
Currently, Perplexity Personal Computer is provided in the form of waiting and is only for users who register for the Perplexity Max package, priced at about 200 USD per month.
This service package includes 10,000 monthly calculations, allowing users to use many advanced AI features.
In the early stages, the product only supports the macOS operating system. However, Perplexity said they are developing a business version with a single sign-on feature to meet system management needs in organizations.
Along with Personal Computer, the company also introduced some new products such as Computer for Enterprise, Comet Enterprise and four APIs including Search, Agent, Embeddings and Sandbox.
According to Perplexity, these tools will help developers integrate AI more deeply into applications and workflows.
