According to data from DownDetector, a site that tracks downtime incidents, in the US alone, more than 20,169 users have reported problems.
Of these, 79% had errors on the Reddit application, 10% on the web version, and the remaining 11% were related to the server connection.
Most of the reflections focus on the fact that comments cannot be displayed, disrupting the community experience.
Not only in the US, in the UK, more than 2,500 users have also reported a similar situation.
The incident was first reported at around 11:30 p.m. local time on Monday. Several accounts later shared their frustration on other social media, saying Reddit was almost frozen in the comments section.
Statistics from DownDetector show that 75% of UK users have problems on the application, while only 10% report on the website.
With the wave of complaints on the rise, Reddit issued a notice confirming the incident.
Regarding this incident, Reuters quoted the platform spokesperson as saying: "We are currently investigating serious errors related to comments and are actively overcoming them".
However, the company has not given a specific time frame for when the service will operate stably again.
