After the temporary suspension of one-way service began to be implemented for unverified subscribers, many users continued to learn about the next handling roadmap of the network operator.
Among them, one of the issues of great concern is when subscribers may have their services terminated and their numbers recovered if they continue not to update data.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (Hanoi) said that after learning about the new regulations, he was quite surprised to learn that subscribers are not only locked in both directions but also at risk of having their numbers revoked.
I used to think that if I was locked in one direction, I could use it again later. But now I know that if I leave it for too long, the service may be completely cut off, so I am quite worried," Mr. Hai shared.
According to Mr. Hai, the phone number is currently associated with a bank account, work and many online platforms, so if it is recovered, it will be very troublesome.
Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thu Phuong (Hai Phong) said that she proactively verified immediately after reading information about the subscriber handling roadmap.
I see that now the phone number is related to almost all services, so I don't dare to update it close to the deadline," Ms. Phuong said.
After a two-way lock, the number may be revoked for about 5 days.
According to Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN, after the subscriber is temporarily suspended from two-way service, if the user still does not complete information verification as required, the telecommunications enterprise may terminate service provision and recall the subscriber number after about 5 days.
This means that for subscribers who are double-locked but continue not to update information, the risk of losing the right to use the phone number is entirely possible according to the handling roadmap.
Previously, according to regulations, unverified subscribers would successively go through the steps:
- One-way pause
- Two-way suspension after 60 days if not updated
- Terminate the contract and revoke the number if continuing to fail to verify
Network operators recommend that people should proactively check their subscriber information and carry out verification early if they receive notifications to avoid interruption or loss of phone number usage rights in the near future.
