
According to Bloomberg, if the deal is successful, Mistral will become one of the most valuable technology startups in Europe.
Founded 2 years ago by former experts from DeepMind and Meta, Mistral develops an open source language model with the chatbot Le Chat aimed at European users.
The company did not comment on the above information, but this is considered the first large capital mobilization round since June 2024, when Mistral was valued at 5.8 billion euros. The company has previously raised more than €1 billion from large investment funds such as Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst.
This investment reflects the heat of the European AI market. According to Dealroom, the first quarter of 2025 recorded a 55% increase in capital poured into AI startups in the region compared to the same period, with 12 companies reaching a record in just the first half of the year.
One of the prominent faces is Lovable (Sweden) - an AI programming platform that was valued at 1.8 billion USD in July, just 8 months after its launch.
