Mappa launched the market with the goal of truly understanding people, we do not classify the characteristics as good or bad, but consider whether they are compatible or not, Lucena ( Mappa founder) shared.
In less than three years, the startup has had more than 130 corporate customers in the US and achieved annual revenue of over 4 million USD. According to Lucena, Mappa's biggest strength is the specialized data they build to understand human behavior.
Initially, the team experimented with online video and data analysis, but quickly realized that voice was the most accurate reflection factor.
As a result, companies using Mappa have recorded a 2% employee rate of unemployment, compared to the industry average of 30%.
Mappa is currently developing a behavioral testing API, attracting the attention of companies that want to apply this technology in areas outside of recruitment.
Investor Tim Draper said he used Mappa to evaluate startup founders whose funds he is considering investing in. Meanwhile, online education platform Re-Skilling.ai uses Mappa to identify learners' skills that need improvement.
Lucena believes that in the future, Mappa could be applied to approve loans for people without a good credit history as a more equitable way to assess people in all circumstances.
