Google's new AI application allows users to try on virtual outfits

Quang Minh |

Google Labs has just announced the launch of Doppl - a virtual reality testing application using artificial intelligence.

With Doppl, users just need to upload a whole photo and choose an outfit from any source, from Pinterest, fashion website, to a photo of friends or a secondhand store.

Doppl will create an AI image that simulates you in the outfit you have chosen and can even create your own moving video when wearing that outfit. Users can try many styles, save their favorite photos and share styles through social networks.

Google notes that Doppl is still in the testing phase, so some details such as the fit or fabric material may not be absolutely accurate. This is a standalone app, unlike the virtual item testing feature that Google has recently introduced on its Shopping platform.

Doppl is currently only available in the US, on both iOS and Android. In addition to entertainment, the app is also expected to help Google collect more data about users' shopping tastes.

With Doppl, Google continues to show its ambition to integrate AI more deeply into daily life, especially in the fields of fashion and e-commerce. If developed in the right direction, the application will not only be an entertainment tool on social networks but can also become a platform to support users to make more accurate and personalized shopping decisions in the future.
