This award aims to honor authors and groups of authors with outstanding works vividly reflecting research, application and digital transformation activities across the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized: During the resistance war, the press was an "ideological weapon", while science and technology were the material strength that contributed to the victory. Today, in the digital transformation era, journalism continues to be a pioneer force in bringing knowledge to the whole society, inspiring innovation in all areas of life.

According to the Deputy Minister, this year's award took place in the context of the Politburo's recent issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, identifying the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as one of the strategic pillars for Vietnam to rise to become a developed country.

The press is expected to continue to be a "connector" between policies and practice, between ideas and reality, between laboratories and factories, contributing to spreading the spirit of innovation to each citizen, business and scientist.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Science and Technology Journalism Award has been held annually since 2012, and has so far attracted more than 8,000 works and groups of works from central and local press agencies, affirming the prestige of a highly widespread professional award.

In 2024, the Organizing Committee received more than 200 entries and groups of entries, comprehensively reflecting scientific, technological, innovative and digital transformation activities in economic and social life.

Many works this year touch on major issues of the digital age, such as artificial intelligence, big data, semiconductor technology and digital transformation, demonstrating the timely participation of the press team with highly topical topics.

As a result, 24 works and groups of works were awarded, including 4 First Prizes, 5 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes and 10 Encouragement Prizes. The winning works demonstrate the spirit of discovery, creativity and strong influence, contributing to affirming the role of journalism in scientific communication, arousing the desire for innovation and developing the country through knowledge.

Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong said that the Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to create favorable conditions for press agencies in applying new technology, artificial intelligence, big data and digital transformation. At the same time, strengthen coordination and share scientific data so that science and technology journalism becomes a core force in communication on national innovation.
