WhatsApp has just announced a series of new features to improve the user experience, focusing on simplifying chat operations, data management and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the daily messaging process.
One of the notable upgrades is the storage capacity management tool right in each conversation.
Over time, image, video and document files can take up a lot of device memory. With the new feature, users can access the "Manage Storage" section right in the chat to quickly delete large files without having to delete the entire chat history. This is especially useful for devices with limited capacity.
In addition, WhatsApp continues to improve the ability to convert data between devices. Users can easily switch chat history from Android to iOS and vice versa, as well as between devices in the same operating system.
This feature makes the phone exchange process more convenient, even though the data transfer time may be longer if the capacity is large. Currently, this function does not apply to business accounts.
Another notable change is the support for managing two accounts on the same device, especially on iPhone.
Previously, this feature was mainly available on Android, but now it has been expanded, helping users easily separate work and personal matters without using two separate devices.
In terms of interaction, WhatsApp also upgrades the sticker system. When users enter content, the application will automatically suggest appropriate emoticons, and also allow quick conversion to the corresponding sticker. This makes the conversation more lively and intuitive.
Notably, Meta (the parent company of WhatsApp) is promoting AI integration into this platform through Meta AI. Users can edit photos directly in conversations using AI before sending, instead of having to use external applications.
In addition, the "Writing Support" feature also allows AI to suggest answering content based on the conversation context, helping to save time and limit grammatical errors.
These updates reflect the trend of deeper integration of AI into messaging applications, making them not only a communication tool but also a work and daily communication support assistant.
With new features, WhatsApp aims to improve convenience, personalization and efficiency in the user experience.
Meta said the above features are being gradually deployed and will soon be widely available globally. However, depending on the region and device, users may need to wait longer before fully experiencing these updates.
