Previously, this smartphone model was introduced in the Chinese market with a starting price of about 893 USD. This is Xiaomi's flagship product, after launching Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro in October 2024.
Xiaomi's Ultra line focuses on improving the camera, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra is no exception.
Like last year's Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the rear four cameras are arranged in a giant rounded panel at the rear of the phone, designed like camera hardware from partner Leica.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a 4.3-x 200 megapixel perspective camera, similar to Vivo's X100 Ultra and X200 Pro, and Honor's Magic 7 Pro. This is a shorter zoom lens than the 5x potential lens on the 14 Ultra, but uses a larger sensor, faster aperture and higher resolution.
According to the Chinese phone manufacturer, with this improvement, Xiaomi 15 Ultra will achieve better light, bringing improvements in zoom when taking photos, especially in low light conditions.
The remaining three rear sensors all have a resolution of 50 megapixel and are set up similarly to last year's model, despite some minor changes. The most notable change is in the main camera, which has eliminated the aperture change technology equipped on the previous model to switch to the fixed aperture f/1.63.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is also equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6.73-inch screen with a maximum HDR brightness of 3,200 nits. In addition, it is also equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging technology and 80W wireless charging. The device uses a 3.2 Gen 2 USB port, certified IP68/IP69 for water and dust resistance, and uses Gorilla Glass 7i to protect the camera.
Xiaomi's new phone model also allows two-way calls up to 7km apart in areas without coverage, but both sides must use Xiaomi phones that support the feature. Xiaomi added that their latest phone supports the Apple ecosystem, allowing photo and file transfers from iPhones, iPads and Macs.
