Hanoi - The Department of Science and Technology (KHCN) has just requested post and telecommunications businesses to ensure data security for service users.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, recently, there have been consecutive cases of impersonating post office employees to commit fraud and appropriate property. The Hanoi Department of Science and Technology recommends that people and businesses providing postal and telecommunications services in the area regularly update warning information about fraud methods and prevention measures on the iHanoi application.

People need to limit sharing personal information on social networks, during livestream sessions; be vigilant with calls, messages or emails asking for personal information or money transfers.

For businesses providing postal services:

It is strictly forbidden to disclose information of postal service users.

Prepare a level proposal dossier and conduct appraisal and approval of the level proposal dossier according to regulations.

Fully fulfill the responsibilities of businesses when providing services in cyberspace.

Proactively develop solutions to protect service user information and information systems, including: identification of calls of postal staff, encryption of information (name, phone number, address, goods content) on mails sent.

Propaganda so that users know and use the official digital channels and platforms of the business.

For telecommunications service providers:

Build a centralized technical system and database to import, store, and manage subscriber information throughout the service.

Ensure the confidentiality of subscriber information according to the provisions of law.

thoroughly disseminate to departments and employees in the enterprise about regulations to ensure safety and security in the provision of telecommunications services and personal data protection.

Urgently review, check, control and thoroughly handle the causes of "garbage" SIMs appearing on the market.

Strengthen management of mobile subscriber information according to regulations.
