At the Zoomtopia 2025 annual event, Zoom announced a series of new features applying artificial intelligence (AI), notably vivid AI Artist and AI Companion 3.0 with multi-platform support.
One of the most notable improvements is Artist AI, allowing users to create realistic digital representative images like real photos to appear in online meetings.
This Avatar can track and simulate user- perpetrated video images, helping them maintain a professional presence without always being prepared for the camera. Zoom said the feature will be officially rolled out in December this year.
In addition, the host can use AI Artist combined with Zoom Clips to customize the lounge with personalized messages, such as events or pre-meeting instructions. According to Zoom, this is especially helpful in increasing interaction and preparing participants thoroughly.
In addition, Zoom also introduced AI Companion 3.0, an upgraded version of the AI assistant, capable of taking notes in direct meetings as well as on external platforms such as Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. However, this feature is currently only available to paid customers of Zoom Workplace.
Speaking at the event, Eric Yuan, CEO of Zoom, expressed his hope that chatbots and AI assistants will help shorten the working week to three to four days.
If AI can make life better, why do we still need to work five days a week? I believe this will gradually become a trend, Yuan said.
In response to concerns about the possibility of third-party platforms restricting access to Zoom AI Companion 3.0, Ms. Smita Hashim, product director of Zoom, affirmed: Some vendors may take restrictive measures, but this trend is not popular. We believe that companies all want customers to have many options.
Zoom said it will continue to monitor cooperation with partners, while emphasizing its commitment to ensuring that customer data is not limited when using new AI features.
