Dr. Khaled Khalifa, Chairman of the Arab Foreign Affairs Council in Israel, spoke about Vietnam's role and prestige in the international arena, as well as the prospects for cooperation and contributions of Vietnam in conflict-affected areas.
Mr. Khaled Khalifa believes that Vietnam can strengthen dialogue and build trust between the Arab, Israeli and international communities through political, economic and humanitarian initiatives.
According to Dr. Khaled Khalifa, Vietnam's independent, autonomous and proactive multilateral foreign policy is one of the models with clear and most respected principles in contemporary international relations.
Originating from the long struggle against colonialism and external occupation, Vietnam has consistently demonstrated that sovereignty, dignity and peace can completely go hand in hand with the spirit of openness, dialogue and international integration.
This line, reaffirmed at the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, allows Vietnam to play the role of a reliable, balanced and reputable international entity, especially in areas affected by prolonged conflict.
Dr. Khaled Khalifa believes that persistently maintaining strategic autonomy helps Vietnam to participate in constructive cooperation with all parties without depending on any bloc of power. This is especially valuable in the context of an increasingly fragmented world, where polarization often weakens efforts for peace.
Vietnam's multilateral diplomacy - through ASEAN, the United Nations and South-South cooperation - emphasizes dialogue instead of confrontation, political solutions instead of military advantage. These principles are of profound significance to conflict hotspots, where decades of violence have eroded trust and stability.
The Chairman of the Arab Foreign Affairs Council in Israel emphasized that Vietnam's prestige is very suitable to participate in peace initiatives and reconstruction in the Middle East, where decades of conflict have weakened trust and stability; and highly appreciated Vietnam's clear political, diplomatic and humanitarian support for the Palestinian people, including supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian State.
According to him, this position is completely consistent with the historical traditions and international values that Vietnam pursues, while consolidating Vietnam's position as a moral voice for peace and justice.
Dr. Khaled Khalifa said: "After decades of devastating war, occupation from outside and national division, Vietnam clearly understands that reconciliation, dialogue and reconstruction are not abstract concepts, but long, painful processes that require patience, encompassment and political courage. Therefore, Vietnam's agreement to participate in the Gaza Peace Council initiative to support the reconstruction of Gaza is of practical significance and deep symbolic value".
According to him, Vietnam can contribute to Middle East peace as a reputable country formed from practical experience.
Vietnam's post-war reconstruction process - from a country devastated by war to a developing country, integrating into the global economy - brings valuable lessons about infrastructure restoration, social reconstruction and putting people at the center of development. These are the experiences that Gaza and the Palestinian territories are in great need of.
Dr. Khaled Khalifa affirmed that the struggle for independence of the Palestinian people has long been inspired by revolutions in Vietnam. Many generations of Palestinians grew up with the image of Vietnam as a symbol of perseverance and victory over injustice. Therefore, Vietnam's participation carries emotional and historical significance far beyond the usual diplomatic framework.
By linking the reconstruction process with justice, dignity and national rights, Vietnam can take on a constructive and honorable role in the process of building peace in the Middle East. Vietnam's participation can help reorient dialogue, towards political solutions based on international law and mutual recognition.
According to him, strengthening political and economic relations with the Palestinians and Arab communities in Israel will reflect a more balanced and inclusive regional approach. Direct economic support, educational cooperation and development projects for the Palestinians will continue to consolidate Vietnam's prestige as a partner towards peace.
In addition, Mr. Khaled Khalifa believes that Vietnam can strengthen dialogue and build trust between Arab, Israeli and international communities through political, economic and humanitarian initiatives.
He proposed expanding cooperation, including the appointment of an Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Israel, to strengthen relations with the Arab community and affirm Vietnam's historical solidarity with righteous movements in the world.
