Unusual profuse sweating
Functional impairment of the liver causes toxins to accumulate in the body, making the body easily feel hot and increasing sweating to regulate temperature. Some people also experience night sweating, bad breath or body odor heavier than normal.
Abdominal distension, bloating after eating
When the liver functions poorly, the amount of albumin produced decreases, making fluid easily accumulate in the abdominal cavity, causing a feeling of tightness and bloating. This condition is usually more obvious after meals and may be accompanied by weight gain due to fat metabolism disorders.
The body is always tired
The liver plays a role in converting nutrients into energy for the body. When this organ is damaged, the metabolism process is ineffective, causing the body to lack energy even after adequate rest.
Difficulty sleeping, not sleeping deeply
Liver dysfunction can affect the biological clock and the blood sugar regulation process in the body. This makes patients prone to insomnia, restless sleep, or frequent midnight awakens.
Dry, itchy or discolored skin
Skin abnormalities such as rash, itching, dry skin, or jaundice may be related to the accumulation of bilirubin and bile salts due to poor liver function. This is a fairly common sign in people with liver problems.
More sensitive to chemical odors
When the ability to detoxify decreases, the body may become sensitive to perfume, chemicals or strong fragrances, easily causing discomfort or allergies.
Digestive disorders
The liver participates in bile production to support fat digestion. When the amount of bile secreted decreases, patients may experience constipation, diarrhea, bloating or prolonged heartburn.
Hormone imbalance
The liver also participates in regulating hormones in the body. Decreased liver function can disrupt estrogen and testosterone, affect physiology, reduce libido or make premenstrual symptoms worse.
