Potatoes, especially when drunk in juice, can provide many nutrients and beneficial compounds for the body, especially when consumed in the morning.

Potato juice, although not popular in daily diets, has recently been studied and evaluated for its potential health benefits.

Potatoes are a rich source of vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants such as flavonoids and carotenoids. Studies from the World Health Organization show that consuming foods rich in vitamin C can help strengthen the immune system, protect cells from harmful environmental agents and support cell regeneration. Therefore, potato juice can help the body recover quickly from sleep and provide energy for a long day.

Potato juice also contains anti-inflammatory substances, which help reduce the risk of chronic inflammatory diseases. According to research, potatoes have the ability to reduce inflammation in the body thanks to phenolic compounds. Drinking potato juice in the morning helps increase the body's anti-inflammatory ability, while improving cardiovascular health and reducing the risk of heart disease.

In addition, potato juice has been studied for its effects on digestive health. Potatoes contain a large amount of soluble fiber, which helps improve digestive function and prevent constipation. When these fiber enters the body, it will help stimulate bowel movements and promote digestion.

However, it should be noted that potato juice should not be consumed too much, because the content of solanin (a compound that can be toxic if consumed too much) in raw potatoes can affect health. Therefore, you should only consume potato juice from carefully processed potatoes.

How to make potato juice

To make potato juice, the first step is to choose fresh potatoes that are not damaged or mold-proof. Unprocessed potatoes may contain a small amount of solanin, a natural compound that can be toxic if consumed in large quantities, especially when the potatoes are green or sprouted. Therefore, before processing, potatoes need to be washed and peeled carefully.

Potatoes should be pressed with a fruit press or puree and then strain the juice. When making potato juice, an important note is to only drink juice from processed or fresh potatoes, do not use raw potatoes that show signs of spoilage or green shells, because solanin can be harmful to health.
