This video was filmed by Mr. Mario Paul - a tour guide and owner of a travel company in the Ha Sabie area (South Africa).
At that time, Mr. Paul thought that the tall heron - estimated to be 5 meters high - had stumbled but was actually caught by a giant crocodile. The heron tried to get up several times to try to escape from carnivores. However, the crocodile refused to let go of prey, causing the once-in-a-lifetime herd to fall to the ground.
"We sat and watched for more than an hour, hoping that the animal would find a way to get rid of the fierce crocodile's teeth, but it still couldn't do it," said Mr. Paul.
After that, the crocodile also allowed the highest-necked deer to leave when the animal had broken legs and could no longer move. However, at that moment, a lion approached and killed the ancient heron.
