This is a special and meaningful activity to support students and teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
“Giant Rice Pan with Meat” with Ban Pe to Celebrate Teachers' Day
On November 20, Tan Tien Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School, Ban Pe village, Yen Lo commune, Lang Son province was filled with laughter and happiness. Besides the bouquets of wild flowers, lovely wishes, simple performances, and the warm, innocent feelings of the children, Ban Pe teachers and students also cooked and enjoyed together "special rice with meat".
The children of the highlands, with eyes sparkling with joy, crowded around the large pans they had never seen before. They were excited and surprised because it was the first time they saw such a big, round, shiny pan. They could not take their eyes off the entire process of the chefs frying hundreds of chicken thighs, stir-frying vegetables and meat. The children's eyes lit up with delight, they kept smiling and chattering to each other: "I have never seen a pan bigger than a table before", "Today our school has more meat than the market".
For teachers, this is a special November 20th: “This year’s Teachers’ Day is so happy and impressive, unique to us teachers and students, and also to the people of Ban Pe living around here. This special activity of cooking rice with meat, the children will definitely remember and talk about it forever. Today, we teachers were really moved when we saw the school yard with teachers, students and parents gathered together, everyone was excited.”
The simple happiness of teachers in the highlands
In addition to taking care of their professional skills, teachers in the highlands also take care of the children’s sleep and meals. The teachers’ wish is to help the children stay in class every day, because with the rugged and steep mountain terrain, the children have to walk a long and hard way every day to get to school, regardless of rain or shine. The boarding meals help the children save a trip back and forth, reduce the rate of dropping out of school in the afternoon, and give them more energy on their journey to find knowledge.
The nutritious lunches are not only a joy to "fill the stomachs" of the children, but also bring "peace of mind and warmth" to the team of more than 20 staff and teachers working at Tan Tien School, Ban Pe.
Sharing with the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Van Quynh, the school principal, was moved: “We feel like we have been fueled by the program ‘CHIN-SU One Million Meals with Meat’. Thanks to the meals with meat, students are motivated to go to school more diligently, and classes are more complete. This is the greatest happiness for us teachers.”
CHIN-SU persists in its mission of "Supporting students - Supporting teachers"
CHIN-SU's "One Million Meals with Meat" project aims to provide nutritional support to children in disadvantaged areas, not only providing warm and loving meals to help them go to school more regularly, but also aiming at comprehensively developing their physical strength, stature, and intelligence on their journey to find the future.
With the goal of bringing "meat-filled meals" to students studying at nearly 100 schools and campuses in the northern and central mountainous provinces in the 2024-2025 school year, CHIN-SU's journey of "Supporting students - Supporting teachers" is still ahead. Hopefully, with nutritious, quality meals filled with love for children and hope for a bright future, children in the highlands will have more motivation to firmly step on the journey of lighting up their dreams. And for teachers, "One million meals with meat" will also be a trusted companion, sharing some of their worries and concerns and fueling their enthusiasm, so that teachers can confidently guide the future buds.
