On October 10, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province organized a meeting program for typical entrepreneurs in 2025. This is a practical activity, demonstrating the province's concern for the business community in the journey to contribute to the economic and social development of the province.
Attending were Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and a large number of entrepreneurs and enterprises in the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang summarized the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 9 months of the year with encouraging growth rates. Industrial production increased by 12.5%, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached 100% of the annual plan; trade surpassed 3.1 billion USD, accounting for nearly 19,9% of the total trade surplus nationwide.
In particular, there are nearly 2,000 newly established enterprises, an increase of more than 72% over the same period, bringing the total number of operating enterprises to 13,000; the private economy contributes 36% of GRDP, creates jobs for nearly 600,000 employees and contributes 27% of total budget revenue. The tireless efforts of each entrepreneur and each employee at the enterprises have contributed significantly to this achievement, Mr. Quang emphasized.
Expressing his hope that the business community will continue to actively contribute to the development journey of the pink Land and Society in the coming time, Mr. Quang suggested that the business community constantly innovate the content and methods of operation to meet the needs of the new situation, successfully reaping the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. C continue to be flexible and creative in the market, proactively seize opportunities, overcome challenges, build long-term investment strategies, innovate, apply science and technology, especially in the trend of digital transformation and green economy; constantly improve governance capacity, competitiveness, solidarity, and cooperation for sustainable development together, Mr. Quang suggested.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Ngo Chi Cuong sent congratulations to all businessmen and enterprises for their health, happiness and success; at the same time, he believed that with the determination to accompany, the team of businessmen and enterprises in the province will have a strong breakthrough, with more and more successful entrepreneurs reaching the top of the country.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented Certificates of Merit to 59 Outstanding Enterprises, 58 Outstanding Entrepreneurs and 16 enterprises with many contributions to the socio-economic development of Dong Thap province.
