According to recommendations from water purifier manufacturers, regular cleaning of the filter core not only helps prolong the life of the device but also ensures a clean water source for daily use. However, many people still do not know how to do it properly or ignore this operation, leading to rapid core failure and reduced filtering performance.
Here are 5 popular and easy-to-implement water filtration core cleaning methods:
1. Reversal the water
For sand-shaped crude or activated coal corees, releasing them back using a pressure pipe will help push the dirt away from the core surface. This method should be done every 2 weeks or when the water flows weaker than normal.
2. Soak the core in warm water mixed with white vinegar
For ceramic or porcelain core, you can soak it in a warm solution of diluted white vinegar (scale): about 30 minutes. Then gently brush with a soft towel and rinse. This method helps remove bacteria and stains that have lasted for a long time.
3. Hygiene with specialized solutions
Some manufacturers provide separate core cleaning solutions, which are safer and more effective than vinegar or soap. Just remove the core, soak in the solution according to the instructions, then rinse with clean water.
4. Use a soft towel to clean the outside core
If the filter core has an outer film like the PP core, use a soft, light brush to remove dust and debris. Do not use sharp objects, avoid tearing or scratching the filter medium.
5. Sanitize the entire combined filter system
In addition to the filter core, it is necessary to discharge water, wash the container and pipes periodically. This helps prevent bacteria from accumulating and keep the entire system stable.
Note:
Do not clean the crystal core (such as RO, UF) if the manufacturer does not instruct - often have to replace it.
The cleaning time depends on the quality of the input water, but should be done every 24 weeks.
Always read the instructions for use with the product carefully.
