Many parents have been confused when their children suddenly changed their personality in just a few weeks. Children may not speak out, but their behavior is a clear "signal of help". Below are 6 common signs that your child is falling into a crisis.
1. Children are easily irritable, exploding abnormal emotions
Children may get angry about small things, react more strongly than normal. This is often a sign of accumulated stress, when children do not know how to relieve it properly.
2. Reclusive, taciturn, avoid communication
If your child has been active but suddenly becomes silent, doesn't want to talk, is afraid to meet friends or hides in the room for a long time... parents should pay special attention. "Separating from the world" can be a sign of psychological pressure.
3. Change eating habits or sleep
Child insomnia, sleeping too much, often startling, anorexia or excessive eating can all be related to mental instability. These are common signs in children with prolonged anxiety.
4. Declining academic results, loss of concentration
When your child is in crisis, the brain prioritizes "emotional survival" over learning. Your child may learn poorly, forget, lack concentration and be discouraged even though they were very diligent before.
5. Children blame themselves, often say negative things
Phrases like "I can't do anything", "I'm useless", "I hate myself"... are red signals. Children are losing faith in themselves and need timely support.
6. Children often complain of headaches and abdominal pain but the cause is unknown
Many children do not express themselves verbally but "express themselves physically". Pain that does not reveal obvious pathology may be a sign of stress or depression in children.
Parents need to remember: instead of scolding, listen and ask your child gently. If the situation persists, you should seek a psychologist for proper support.
