At the inspection of the construction progress of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway on April 29, Mr. Hau A Lenh - Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee proposed that relevant agencies study and plan to invest in a synchronous and scientific rest stop system.
The arrangement needs to be based on the technical standards of the expressway, ensuring a reasonable distance between stations, suitable for vehicle traffic and the actual terrain conditions of the route.
Rest stops must be in convenient locations, associated with intersections, residential areas and production areas to develop integrated services.
According to the Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, the investment in rest stops not only serves the essential needs of traffic participants but also creates motivation to promote the development of service economy along the route, opening up new development space, contributing to increasing added value from the expressway.

For intersections on the route, Mr. Hau A Lenh requested communes to coordinate with functional agencies to study synchronous planning of infrastructure, population, and services, associated with reorganizing production, and maximizing the advantages of the expressway.
Regarding the project progress, Mr. Hau A Lenh requested contractors to continue to promote the spirit of proactiveness and flexibility in organizing construction. Issues arising need to be promptly resolved by relevant sectors, avoiding prolonged backlogs affecting the overall progress.
Regarding the construction progress, according to the investor's report, the expressway section through Ha Giang (old) has a total length of about 27 km, currently reaching 91.4% of the construction contract value. The section through Tuyen Quang province has a total length of 77 km, currently reaching 62% of the contract value.

Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway is expected to be completed by the end of December 2025, but due to some difficulties, complex mountainous terrain, many sections passing through high hills, weak geology, and frequent landslides in the rainy season, it has a significant impact on the construction progress.
In addition, the fact that the site has not been completely handed over at some locations also makes the construction organization process not really synchronized. This project has adjusted the implementation time, opening the entire route to traffic at the end of the third quarter of 2026.
Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway (phase 1), belonging to group A project, total length of the entire route is over 104km. The project has a total investment of 13,800 billion VND. The starting point of the project connects to the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway, the ending point is in Tan Quang commune.
The project has been implemented since 2023 with the expectation of increasing traffic connectivity between Tuyen Quang province and neighboring areas. At the same time, it contributes to promoting socio-economic development in the Northern mountainous region.
